Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy

All content published in SSIJ is preserved in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), so that it remains available even if the journal stops publishing.

  • PKP Preservation Network. SSIJ deposits every published issue in the PKP PN, which uses LOCKSS technology to keep copies at several institutions. The archive is "dark": content becomes publicly available from the network only after a trigger event, such as the journal ceasing publication or its website going offline permanently.
  • Persistent identifiers. Every article has a Crossref DOI (prefix 10.60036), so citations and links continue to work if the journal's web address changes.
  • Publisher backups. PT MID Publisher International keeps regular backups of the journal website, database and files, with a copy stored off the main server.
  • Additional copy. Published PDFs are also deposited in the [SSIJ community on Zenodo].
  • Self-archiving by authors. Authors may deposit any version of their article (submitted, accepted or published) in institutional or subject repositories and on personal websites, with a full citation and a link to the DOI. This is permitted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
